In its new "Rewind 2009" feature released today on iTunes, Apple has listed the year's top-grossing and best-rated games for the iPhone and iPod Touch, from Flight Control through Spider and beyond.
In its new "Rewind 2009" feature released today on iTunes, Apple has listed the year's top-grossing games for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The feature also includes a "Best of 2009" list highlighting some of the year's top-rated apps. The top sellers by revenue chart for 2009 features a number of games from major industry publishers, including Electronic Arts, Gameloft, Taito, 2K Games, and Sony. The 1.5 million unit-selling air traffic management sim Flight Control, developed and published by independent game development studio Firemint, is also featured in Apple's list, despite only costing 99c. The "Best of 2009" chart, highlighting some of Apple's preferred games with the highest average score, includes Tiger Style's arachnid sim Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor, the single-switch action game Canabalt, and id Software's iPhone port of the classic first-person shooter Doom.
