Softimage and graphics card company ATI have announced a new hardware and software 3D construction solution bundle. To this end, the new Softimage XSI Foundation v.4.2 software is combined with the FireGL™ T2-128 AGP 8X workstation graphics accelerator to form a 3D modeling and animation bundle deal for artists and students. Softimage Senior Product Manager Gareth Morgan proposes that: “This new bundle enables customers who are currently using AGP-based desktop systems to access leading animation and graphics technology, extending the life of their current hardware investments. By working together, both Softimage and ATI are underscoring the important synergy of software and hardware in today’s digital content creation market.” The ATI FireGL T2-128 has 128mb of unified graphics memory, with dual screen support through DVI-I and VGA connections. Softimage’s XSI Foundation software includes nonlinear animation, polygon modeling tools, an interactive rendering toolset, and Subdivision Surfaces, for use in games, film and post-production. More information on details and pricing for this special bundle is available at the official ATI website.
