Officials from media and film production company Big Screen Entertainment Group have announced plans to enter the video game and mobile content industry, with development of new console game titles apparently already underway. Big Screen Entertainment Group develops, produces and distributes motion pictures, television, music and publishing projects, with completed movies including Forget About It starring Burt Reynolds and Raquel Welsh and Jenny McCarthy’s Dirty Love. The company’s new video game titles will apparently be based on existing projects and properties managed by the company, although specific titles have not yet been announced. The games will initially be for the Xbox and PlayStation formats, although whether current or next generation is currently unclear. PDA content will also be produced, with the company employing Daniel Silverstein to oversee the new interactive content, as well as expansion of the group’s computer graphics department. “Bringing these industries to a company that is already thriving on the success of generating marketable films is a natural choice. The ability to use proven material and work with such a creative staff is the dream of any project manager.” states Silverstein. “Video games and mobile markets will give us the ability to start marketing movies before the conventional distribution of films and will also give a larger base of exposure and branding of our products” said Kimberley Kates, CEO/chairperson of Big Screen Entertainment Group.
