UK developer Blitz Games Studios' 1UP initiative gets a new business development manager in industry veteran George Bray, formerly of Fuel Industries and MumboJumbo. The company describes its 1UP initiative as an outlet for the work of small indie teams, offering support throughout the process from concept to launch. Bray will be tasked with helping maximize global sales of those partner titles. Some of the recent indie titles signed by Blitz 1UP for platforms including PC, Mac and Xbox Live Arcade include games such as Buccaneer: The Pursuit Of Infamy, Clover: A Curious Tale and KrissX. "With his veteran status in the industry and encyclopaedic knowledge of games I’m certain that he will be tremendous at maximising the distribution of our catalogue," says biz dev director Chris Swan. Bray says he's appreciated working with numerous independent developers in the past: "To give them a voice via the Blitz 1UP scheme is an exciting prospect," he says. "We're really looking forward to opening even more doors for both developers and publishers." Blitz's 1UP program first started its current push late in 2009, when it claimed the response to the program was "fantastic." Specifically, the initiative provides small developers support in design, development, networking, specific platforms, funding, legal, technology, and PR.
