The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Some of the resources I've been using to learn how to develop games for Android.
When it comes to creating games for Android, I'm pretty green so I make it a point to consult available resources. Some books are good sources of information and nowadays, there are a lot of books out there that I consult. Since I have started exploring android and now that I am trying to develop games, there are numerous books that I have consulted and I will share them with you later on.
Since Android was launched, Android has become a widely used operating system among different phones. Nokia didn’t join the bandwagon and needless to say, they missed out a lot of opportunities there. With Android’s continuous success, more and more developers like me are taking advantage of Android by coming up with interesting apps including games. For those of you out there who want to follow this trend, I have compiled a list of the best Android books that could help developers like me.
This book will help you create your own app such as Android’s “Hello, World”. You could be able to build a Sudoku game by reading this book. The book could give you a perspective on Android games in particular together with the Mobile Development Platform of Google. Some topics tackled are SQL, 3D Graphics in OpenGL, and 2D Graphics. Developing multi-touch support apps is also given explanation.
For Android beginners, this book is a good thing to have. It provides information on how to create Flash games. This app helped me in creating apps for different screen sizes and for different devices. Through this book, I even learned how to use WebM video together with some multimedia APIs.
Personally, I think this book is great for those who want to make viral games for a living. This book adequately teaches game programming fundamentals and you will learn how to set up and move around development tools. This book teaches creating 3D and 2D games. This allowed me to publish the games I was able to make and get crash reports so I could easily fix bugs. Aside from these, you will learn about user input, audio, and graphics Android APIs.
Remember, there is no best resource out there and each one has its own unique learning to offer about Android.
