Officials from Capcom have announced that the newly founded Clover Studio will be headed by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and Devil May Cry director Hideki Kamiya. The studio will be headed up Viewtiful Joe creator Atsushi Inaba. Officials describe the studio as an independent developer, although it is wholly owned by Capcom, and it was set up specifically to work on new and original game concepts, after the closure of several of the company’s smaller, peripheral studios. Also today, the studio announced that its first games would be Viewtiful Joe 2 for the GameCube and PlayStation 2, a conversion of the first Viewtiful Joe title for the PlayStation 2 and a new title named Okami (Wolf), which is based on classic Japanese myths and uses a unique form of cel-shading which mimics traditional Japanese ink drawings.
