Rumors are circulating that the UK division of German publisher CDV will be closed down at the end of the summer, in light of severe layoffs in the German head office and continued poor performance of the company’s titles. Although the UK office is the best performing of CDV’s international offices the poor financial results of the company in general, which showed a 4 million Euro ($4.35m) deficit last quarter, have caused possibly insurmountable problems. In spite of these alleged problems the eagerly awaited title Breed will still launch in Autumn, with the company’s German office making several different distribution deals around the world.
