As the ESRB announces its new in-store ratings awareness campaign, the Coalition of Entertainment Retail Trade Associations has similarly unveiled a new public service announcement educating consumers about movie, game, and music ratings. The new PSA, viewable online (wmv), will be shown, according to the release, in "thousands of retail establishments that sell and rent entertainment products, and an audio version will be streamed by online radio networks." The premiere of the ad coincides, as with the ESRB's campaign, with the declaration by CERTA and its affiliated groups such as the EMA of June as "Entertainment Ratings and Labeling Awareness Month." CERTA says it has declared every June to be "Entertainment Ratings & Labeling Awareness Month" since 2004, hoping to increase awareness and utilization of entertainment ratings systems for both consumers and retailers. More information on CERTA and the Awareness Month can be found via the group's website.
