The latest 'Blogged Out', Jim Rossignol's news report that looks at the world of developer blogging, looks at starting your own indie game business, according to Garage Games' Jeff Tunnell, as well as Greg Costikyan on the specifics of making easily convertible casual game demos. In this extract from the column, Rossignol discusses Tunnell's approach to indie development: "Garage Games' Jeff Tunnell has posted a goliath piece on game development start ups, entitled "Five Realistic Steps To Starting A Game Development Company". Tunnell intends to write a series on this subject and then publish a free eBook of the compiled text. Clearly, he's is going to cover a huge amount of ground, but it's worth highlighting that he is also being acutely realistic about every step - he's done what he talks about himself, and so is the perfect person to learn from." You can now read the full Gamasutra column on the subject, including plenty more from Rossignol, Tunnell, and Costikyan on these important game professional-specific issues (no registration required, please feel free to link to this feature from external websites).
