Microsoft Game Studios lead project planner Jon Kimmich has announced that he is leaving the company to join developer Day 1 Studios, developers of the MechAssault series. Kimmich will become producer and director of business development at the studio, with one of his first responsibilities being to lead a development team working on a next-generation title. Kimmich had spent over fifteen years at Microsoft, helping with the establishment of Gas Powered Games and Big Huge Games and the acquisition of FASA Interactive and Bungie. Day 1 Studios are essentially a second party developer for Xbox, with no products currently planned for any other system. Source: gamesindustry.biz
