Organizers of the first Develop conference held in Liverpool say the event played host to over 160 delegates, and that its success will mean the return of Develop in Liverpool next year. Companies represented at the event included Bizarre Creations, Codemasters and Eidos, as well as Nintendo, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Sega, among others. Sony Worldwide Studios Europe senior VP Michael Denny gave a keynote to open the inaugural event, where he discussed what Sony's Worldwide Studios looks for in external projects. "It was a pleasure to take part and I hope to see it becoming a regular fixture in the industry's calendar," he commented. Develop in Liverpool joined up with the concurrent Software City event, which is shaped around the region's tech industry, and as such enjoyed synergies with the event. "We wanted to re-create the Brighton event and deliver a conference that reflects the creativity and success of the UK’s development community, so we’re delighted that Develop in Liverpool was supported by the major players and we look forward to making it a regular date in the developer’s calendar," said Andy Lane of organizer Tandem Events.
