With the aim of bringing video-capture based facial animation out of the exclusive realm of high-budget projects, Digimation has released Facestation 2--a software-only facial capture and animation tool. Retailing for $1,195, Facestation 2 doesn't require any special hardware or facial markers, and offers real-time integration with 3DS Max and Maya, and avoids the need for time-consuming manual keyframing.
