The first IEEE International Workshop on Digital Representatives of the first IEEE International Workshop on Digital Entertainment and Creative Technology, taking place as part of the January 12th Las Vegas CCNC 2008 have announced that they are seeking paper submissions on game topics. The event, sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society, tackles the topic of games used in education, training, decisions support, communication, marketing, and art from the perspective of player interests when gaming—storyline, social interaction, and gameplay features. The workshop welcomes multidisciplinary research in new graphics and physics techniques, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, learning and automatic scenario design, and the artistic aspects of games. As stated by the workshop committee: “The purpose of this workshop is to bring together academic and industry researchers, designers and computer entertainment developers and practitioners, to address and advance the research and development issues related to computer entertainment.” Paper submissions are due July 22, 2007.
