During a press conference today, Midway announced that Unreal Tournament 3 will allow PC mods created for the game to be playable in the PS3 version, via the PlayStation Network. Developer Epic Games' Mark Rein told Gamasutra that he thought the service, which represents the first large-scale user created console content of its kind, would "really yield a lot of interesting stuff. People are going to be able to do a lot with this." Though this was one of the more major announcements at the press conference, Midway also revealed that Lord of the Rings Online is doing quite well, having been the #1 selling PC game in the U.S. in April 2007. Also announced was TNA Wrestling, from the creators of NBA Jam and the NFL Blitz games. The DS and Wii SKUs use the unique properties of both to create a more accessible title. After highlighting its five new titles for Nintendo consoles, and showcasing a new video of Stranglehold's massively destructible environments, the company discussed its original FPS Blacksite: Area 51, which includes a cooperative story mode, a much more accessible and intuitive contextual squad system, and team morale.
