A scandal surrounding the personal life of star golfer Tiger Woods has made the future of some of his endorsement deals uncertain, but Electronic Arts says its relationship with Woods will not be affected. "Our strong relationship with Tiger for more than a decade remains unchanged," said EA in a statement to media outlets including consumer weblog Kotaku. Recently, Woods drew media scrutiny when he crashed his SUV in an accident suspected to have resulted from an argument with his wife. In the days that followed, numerous women emerged to allege they had been having affairs with the pro golfer. Woods has neither confirmed nor denied the affairs, but has issued a public statement about having "let [his] family down" and "transgressions" that, according to Woods, are not "true to my values and the behavior my family deserves." "We respect Tiger's privacy, we wish him a fast recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on the golf course," EA continued. The company's EA Sports division develops the Tiger Woods PGA Tour franchise; label head Peter Moore has said this year's iteration in particular was a success on Wii, showing "tremendous growth" year over year thanks in part to the MotionPlus accessory.
