EA Sports' FIFA 10 had the biggest all-platform number one launch in the UK since Grand Theft Auto IV last week, besting the record-setting FIFA 09 by 48 percent in terms of unit sales. The tracking firm said that for the week ended October 3, FIFA 10 enjoyed the biggest launch ever for of a FIFA soccer game. Its release was the second-biggest all-platform launch ever in the UK, following Rockstar's GTA IV. Last year, publisher Electronic Arts said FIFA 09 sold 1.2 million units at European retail in its opening week. It was the fastest-selling FIFA game until now. Chart-Track said that sales of FIFA 10 were distributed with 48 percent on Xbox 360, 46 percent on PS3, and 6 percent on remaining platforms. The firm added, "The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are now respectively the fifth- and sixth-fastest selling single format releases."
