Fortune officials have today announced that Electronic Arts will be added to the Fortune e-50 Index after close of trading on Wednesday, October 8th. The company will replace search engine experts Overture Services, who have recently been acquired by Yahoo! The Fortune e-50 Index was developed by the editors of Fortune to offer a benchmark of the Internet economy. The Fortune Index Committee selects the 50 companies that it feels best represent the Internet economy in the sub sectors of e-companies, Internet communications, Internet hardware, and Internet software and services.
