Publisher Electronic Arts has announced "Family Play," a new option exclusive to its forthcoming Wii lineup of EA Sports titles it says will 'level the playing field' and allow players of all skill levels to compete in Madden NFL 08, NBA Live 08 and FIFA Soccer 08. The Family Play system will utilize only the Wii Remote and will debut in the above titles as an option before each multiplayer game, with advanced combined Wii Remote and Nunchuck controls available for experienced players. EA says the Family Play controls will let younger and less experienced players use the remote's motion sensitive controls for "shooting, passing, snapping, and throwing" while "the console controls the rest." Said EA Canada executive producer Dave McCarthy, “EA SPORTS Family Play on the Wii creates an incredibly accessible and user-friendly experience that the whole family will enjoy. While many fans love to control every piece of the action, novice players can have just as much fun jumping in to throw a touchdown pass, nail a three pointer or take a shot on goal. Family Play brings together fans of all ages to enjoy playing EA SPORTS games, and even let’s them ease in to Advanced play if they desire.”
