Elsa launched its GLoria 4 Quadro4 XGL family of graphics accelerators, comprising three boards based on Nvidia's Quadro4 XGL processor. The three boards, the Quadro4 700XGL, Quadro4 750XGL and Quadro4 900XGL, are targeted at the workstation graphics market. The new boards offer a unified memory architecture that dynamically allocates memory between graphics subsystems such as the frame buffer, texture memory and vertex memory. They also include Nvidia's second-generation Lightspeed Memory Architecture (LMA) II, which dynamically load balances across the memory controller for optimal memory bandwidth usage. The Quadro4 700XGL and Quadro4 750XGL boards feature the same graphics processor with a 256-bit engine and HyperTexel architecture. Both support VGA + VGA and VGA + Digital display outputs. The Quadro4 700XGL board has 64MB DDR-SDRAM memory, while the Quadro4 750XGL product has 128MB DDR-SDRAM memory. The Quadro4 900XGL board is the company's high-end product, using a graphics processor with a 256-bit engine with HyperTexel architecture and 128MB DDR-SDRAM memory. It supports VGA + VGA, VGA + Digital, and Digital + Digital display outputs. The Quadro4 XGL series will begin shipping on April 5, 2002 from ELSA authorized resellers and system builders. The GLoria4 Quadro4 750XGL carries a suggested retail price of $889 and the GLoria4 Quadro4 900XGL carries a suggested retail price of $1649. The GLoria4 Quadro4 700XGL will only be available to system integrators.
