Epic China's Meegan To Become LucasArts' New President

Recently-resigned LucasArts president Darrell Rodriguez has a replacement, the company has announced -- Epic Games China CEO Paul Meegan will step up to the role. Meegan takes the reins in the middle of this month, LucasArts confirmed to Gamasutra, when he will report to Lucasfilm president and COO Micheline Chau. In addition to his work with Epic China, Meegan has worked with Ubisoft's Montreal and Shanghai offices, founded Sinister Games and served as a partner at Axion Pacific Capital, among other executive roles. Rodriguez's surprise resignation from the company came just after two years in the role, and he gave no reason for his departure. Prior president Jim Ward resigned citing personal reasons after holding the role for four years. Meegan will take over leadership from LucasArts' Jerry Bowerman, who has been the company's interim head since Rodriguez left in May. Meegan has headed up Epic China since the founding of the office, which has primarily handled outsourcing for Epic and contributed to the development of online game technology for Unreal Engine 3.
