Despite a drop in demand in the US and Japan, Sony representatives have reported that sales of the PlayStation 2 in PAL territories has grown by 25% in the first half of 2003. Although it is unlikely to be the sole reason for the difference, the fact that the PS2 launched in Europe some months later than the US may account for the continued increase in demand.
