Future Play 2007, which takes places November 15-17 in Toronto, Ontario, is a conference that weaves together three major themes in the gaming industry: future game development, future game impacts and applications, and future game talent. Registration has officially opened, well in advance to offer early bird rates. This year’s keynotes include Constance Steinkuehler, John Nordlinger, John Hopson, Cory Ondrejka, Espen Aarseth, Frans Mayra, and Mia Consalvo. Each of these speakers is established in their fields of study with unique experiences and ample research. In addition to the keynotes, paper presentations, and poster sessions, the conference also holds a game contest. Over 50 game concept submissions, in the categories of Indie Games, Serious Games, and Student Games, are expected to come to fruition by the full game submission deadline of August 1, 2007. Winners will be announced at the conference in November. For more information, interested parties can visit the FuturePlay 2007 web site.
