Engine developer Emergent says that Audiokinetic's Wwise audio pipeline tool will be included out of the box for licensees of its Gamebryo LightSpeed development solution. Wwise allows developers to audit, profile and modify game sounds in realtime within a given build. Combined with LightSpeed, the companies say designers and artists can work on all asset types at the same time without recompiling. "Emergent is committed to driving game development standards and integrating tools that can be used by all game designers right from the start," says Emergent president. Scott Johnson, president, Emergent Game Technologies. Audiokinetic president Andre Nadeau says the company chose to bundle Wwise with LightSpeed because they "work so well together." "We believe in Emergent's philosophies and approach to the industry," he says. "Community-driven technology is key to the industry's future."
