Publisher Gamecock and developer Crackpot Entertainment have announced more details of the forthcoming "classically styled action adventure detective game" Insecticide due for dual release on the PC and Nintendo DS this holiday season. Made up of former leads on a number of classic LucasArts adventure titles including Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max and Grim Fandango, Crackpot Entertainment has said Insecticide will combine both classic adventure gameplay elements and action-based play. The game puts players in the role of insect detectives investigating "a mystery of epic proportions" in a "totally interactive world," gathering clues and hunting down culprits. Both the PC and DS versions will be rendered in full 3D, and Crackpot says the DS version will also allow for yet undetailed multiplayer action. Said Gamecock console Chief Rick Stults, “The heart of classic detective novels and movies is to get the audience involved mentally, but now via PC and the Nintendo DS we can get players involved in a much more tactile arena. The mouse and the stylus are the key to the ‘touch and feel’ experience we’re really aiming for with this game and I think that’s something players are really going to enjoy.”
