GameFly Charts Topped By Shadowrun, Xbox 360

This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending June 1, highlight both to-be-released and already released games in a unique demand-specific chart. Climbing up a pair of spots to take the overall lead from last week was Microsoft's multiplatform shooter Shadowrun, which allows Xbox 360 players to compete with those players playing on the Windows Vista version as well. Xbox 360 racing game Forza Motorsport 2 took the second spot on the all platform chart for the week, followed by Codemaster's DiRT, also for the Xbox 360. Interestingly, Nintendo's multiplayer party game sequel Mario Party 8, which ranked first overall last week, fell several spots among GameFly requests to rank sixth for the week. What follows is a break down of the top titles requested by GameFly subscribers across each of the major platforms: Xbox 360 1. Shadowrun (Microsoft), 2. Forza Motorsport 2 (Microsoft), 3. DiRT (Codemasters), 4. Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer (Take Two), 5. Call of Juarez (Ubisoft). Microsoft's recently shipped Shadowrun topped all requests for the week, not just for the Xbox 360, but across all platforms. In fact, the top three titles all around were all games released for Microsoft's console, echoing the platform's popularity among GameFly subscribers. Nintendo Wii 1. Mario Party 8 (Nintendo), 2. Resident Evil 4 (Capcom), 3. Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree (Nintendo), 4. Super Paper Mario (Nintendo), 5. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (Midway). Not surprisingly, Nintendo's recently shipped Mario Party 8 ranked above all other Wii requests for the week, followed by the upcoming Wii port of Resident Evil 4. The upcoming Wii version of Big Brain Academy rounded out the top three requests for the console. PlayStation 3 1. Darkness (Take Two), 2. Ninja Gaiden Sigma (Tecmo) 3. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Disney Interactive), 4.MLB 07: The Show (Sony), 5. Transformers: The Game (Activision). After ranking above all other PS3 requests last week, Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End fell two spots to take third for the week, while Take Two's action shooter Darkness climbed to the top of the weekly chart. PlayStation 2 1. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2 (Namco), 2, God of War II (Sony), 3. Transformers: The Game (Activision, 4. Odin Sphere (Atlus), 5. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Disney Interactive). It was Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2 from Namco that again remained the week's top spot among PlayStation 2 requests, while Sony's popular action adventure God of War II climbed several spots to take second for the week. Interestingly, Atlus' action RPG Odin Sphere remained once again in the chart's fourth position, no small accomplishment for a niche title such as this. Xbox 1. Halo 2 (Microsoft), 2. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II (LucasArts), 3. Ninja Gaiden Black (Tecmo), 4. Scarface: The World Is Yours (Vivendi), 5. Star Wars: Republic Commando (LucasArts). Microsoft's Halo 2 remained tops among Xbox requests for the week, while a pair of LucasArts releases, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II and Star Wars: Republic Commando, ranked second and fifth respectively. Tecmo's remixed Ninja Gaiden Black continued to drive in GameFly requests as well from the chart's third position. GameCube 1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo), 2. Mario Party 7 (Nintendo), 3. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo), 4. Super Smash Bros. Melee (Nintendo), 5. Mario Superstar Baseball (Nintendo). Once more, all of the top requested titles for the GameCube were first party releases, a continuing testament to Nintendo's status as a highly regarded first party developer and publisher. The request chart was again topped by The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, while Nintendo's multiplayer mini-game collection Mario Party 7 claimed the chart's second position. Nintendo DS 1. Pokemon Diamond (Nintendo), 2. Naruto: Ninja Council 3 (D3P), 3. Pokemon Pearl (Nintendo), 4. Sim City DS (Electronic Arts), 5. Diner Dash (Eidos). Once more the Nintendo DS chart was dominated by Nintendo's Pokemon Diamond, while the game's companion title Pokemon Pearl climbed upa single spot from last week to take the chart's third spot. The week's second most requested DS title belonged to D3P's anime fighting game Naruto: Ninja Council 3. Game Boy Advance 1. Pokemon: Emerald (Nintendo), 2. Pokemon: Fire Red (Nintendo), 3. Pokemon: Leaf Green (Nintendo), 4. Pokemon: Ruby (Nintendo), 5. Pokemon: Sapphire (Nintendo). The Game Boy Advance chart remained controlled by Pokemon, with Pokemon: Emerald taking the top spot for the week, followed by last week's top title, Pokemon: Fire Red. In addition to these top five titles, another Pokemon release, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team ranked eighth on the handheld's weekly chart as well. PlayStation Portable 1. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (Sony), 2. Transformers: The Game (Activision), 3. Crush (Sega), 4. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Disney Interactive), 5. 300: March to Glory (Eidos). Lastly, PSP requests were again topped by Sony's Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters. the chart was also home to a trio of movie adaptations, with Transformers: The Game taking the handheld chart's second spot. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End ranked fourth among PSP requests, while 300: March to Glory, a title that held the chat's top spot for several weeks, ranked fifth.
