IGN’s GamerMetrics analyst Scott Mucci has released data for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, showing that the title holds a "commanding" 17.08 mindshare on IGN.com among all titles releasing in March 2008. Citing the Wii's success and the fact that SSBB is a "quality all-ages oriented title," Mucci expects the game could sell in excess of 1.5 million units by mid April, so long as retail supply holds steady, and will continue to lead game sales well into the month. IGN calculates mindshare percentages by gauging reader interest through surveys and user activity on IGN's sites, including IGN.com, TeamXbox.com and Fileplanet.com. The following is a list of the current top titles on IGN, according to their mindshare percentage: Super Smash Bros. Brawl: 17.08% Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2: 13.44% Major League Baseball 2K8: 6.65% Army of Two: 6.63% Bully: Scholarship Edition: 5.87% Condemned 2: Bloodshot: 4.58% God of War: Chains of Olympus: 3.94% MLB '08: The Show: 3.72% Pro Evolution Soccer 2008: 3.14% Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII: 2.82% Says Mucci, "As a Teen rated title, SSBB remains a more family friendly alternative to the Mature-rated Grand Theft Auto IV due to be released in late April and consequently should enjoy a long tail of strong sales despite the competition."
