Representatives from Gizomondo Europe, a subsidiary of Florida based Tiger Telematics, have announced that the company has signed letters of intent with Redline Marketing and Tartan Sales to handle the sales, account management and distribution for the Gizmondo portable console. According to Gizomondo Europe MD, Car Freeer, “Our intention is to launch Gizmondo in the US in early 2005 and the timing of these agreements provides us with a valuable, six-month window of opportunity for pre-sale activities.” Although the console is much more than a games machine - with a digital camera, movie and audio playback, GPS location function, BlueTooth connectivity and messaging over GPRS phone systems - an early 2005 launch is likely to coincide almost exactly with the expected release date of the PlayStation Portable, and follow only a few months after the Nintendo DS.
