IFIP Announces Entertainment Computing Technical Committee

The General Assembly of the International Federation for Information Processing has announced its new Technical Committee, TC14, on Entertainment Computing, including multiple working groups.

The General Assembly of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) decided on August 28, 2006 to establish a new Technical Committee TC14 on Entertainment Computing, just now announced. As a historical reference, the last Technical Committee, TC13 on Human-Computer Interaction, was established in 1989. The new Committee marks a recognition of the importance of entertainment computing and serves to promote connections between past and future efforts. The main activities of the new TC14 will take place in the already established Working Groups (WG's), including: WG14.1 "Digital Storytelling," Marc Cavazza WG14.2 "Entertainment Robot," Hitoshi Matsubara WG14.3 "Theoretical Basis of Entertainment," Matthias Rauterberg WG14.4 "Games and Entertainment Computing," Jaap Van Den Herik WG14.5 "Social and Ethical Issues," Andy Sloane For more information about the Entertainment Computing TC14, visit their website.
