IGCEast Announces Business, Technical Sessions

GamePath's Independent Game Conference East reveals sessions for the upcoming event at Northeastern University, including both business and technical tracks.

The two-day Independent Game Conference East is set for May 7 and 8 at Boston's Northeastern University, and event organizer GamePath has revealed some of the scheduled sessions. IGCEast will feature talks and panels on two tracks: One oriented for business and marketing, and the other on technically-focused sessions. On the business and marketing track, scheduled sessions include a talk on "Indies, Microtrans and MMOs" from Tandem Games' Aaron Murray; "How To Build Games, Make Your Company Successful And Still Have a Life" with 38 Studios' Brett Close, and "Networking for Indies," a panel featuring Darius Kazemi of Orbus Gameworks, Scott Macmillan of Macguffin Games and Sam Houston of GamerDNA. On the technical track, Fire Hose Games' Eitan Glinert and Ethan Fenn will present "Synopsis for Rapid and Iterative Prototyping, or How to Rip Off Dinosaur Comics"; Red Storm Entertaiment's Judy Tyrer will speak on "The Network Ate My Game: programming for latency in online multiplayer games, while Duncan Watt of Fastestmanintheworld will present a session on "Music as an Element of Game Design," to name a few. IGCEast will also feature a Game Demo Night where attendees can show their work to publishers and media. It will also include a job fair sponsored by Mary-Margaret Network so that attendees can meet with hiring companies.
