The International Game Developers Association has announced the results of its recent election for its Board of Directors, revealing that Epic's president Michael Capps, Ubisoft Montreal creative director Christopher Crowell and Cryptic's Clarinda Merripen will be joining the IGDA's Board of Directors on June 1st for the start of the next term. In addition, Mitzi McGilvray, General Manager for Casual Games at TikGames, has been re-elected to the board for another term. The IGDA's board is comprised of eight directors - 6 are elected and 2 ex-officio (ie, the executive director and chairperson emeritus). Board terms last for three years, and director elections are held each year for vacating seats. The board of directors guide the IGDA and has governance over every aspect of the association, always acting in the best interest of the game developer community. Board members who will remain on the IGDA's managing body, according to an official statement on the IGDA website, include Bob Bates, Tom Buscaglia, Brian Reynolds and Kathy Schoback. This year, the IGDA's board is also saying goodbye to John Feil and Jesse Schell, who are stepping down. Results of officer appointments (chair, secretary, treasurer) to the IGDA Board will also be announced in the near future, and more information on the previous state of the Board is available at the IGDA Board section of the organization's website.
