The price of both the PS2 and Xbox consoles are due to be lowered in the emerging South Korean market. The PS2 will be lowered from 272,800 Won to 248,000 Won ($231 to $210) from November 20, while the Xbox will drop from 249,800 Won to 199,500 Won ($212 to $169) on the preceding day. South Korea has been specifically targeted by Microsoft due to the very high uptake of broadband in the country, but the company’s efforts have thus far been in vain, with PS2 remaining dominant by a considerable margin.
