The entry of Final Fantasy X-2 straight into the number one position is almost the only movement of note in this week’s UK sales charts. Publisher Electronic Arts will be more than pleased with the game’s performance though, since Japanese RPGs – including the last few Final Fantasies – have always had a rocky history in the UK with both consumer and publisher apathy ensuring many are never published. The release of the Xbox and GameCube versions of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (the game was a PlayStation exclusive in Europe during 2003) has seen the game re-enter the charts at number seven, although many will see this as still far less success than the title deserves.
