The UK sales chart has finally spluttered into life, after essentially being stuck in limbo for the first month of the year with no significant new releases of any kind. This week though Sega’s Sonic Heroes has finally kicked Electronic Arts off of the top spot with an impressive debut on all three consoles – the GameCube version for once outselling the Xbox. There have also been significant new entries for Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II and Legacy of Kain: Defiance, two fairly niche titles which together with last week’s console versions of Mafia have now reaped clear rewards by avoiding the Christmas present buying rush.
