After an Easter period almost entirely bereft of new releases the UK sales charts continues to enjoy a relatively busy summer with new entries Red Dead Revolver and Thief: Deadly Shadows both performing to expectations. Despite the start of the European Championships soccer title Euro 2004 has failed to steal the top slot from the latest Harry Potter game, with Ubisoft’s PlayStation 2 release of Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow coming the closest to that goal. This latest stealth adventure has performed relatively poorly on Sony’s machine though, with under half the number of unit sales enjoyed by the Xbox version in its first week on sale. The more appropriate demographic of the Xbox and the public’s continued resistance to delayed ports of previously exclusive titles obviously taking their toll.
