After weeks of excitement the UK charts seem to have fallen into a pre-Christmas torpor, with not a single new entry in the top ten. Even so EA’s achievement in knocking off Soulcalibur II from top spot is impressive, considering the PGA Tour series has never previously achieved such a high level of success in Britain. This version of the game seems to have succeeded thanks to an earlier release date than usual and some aggressive TV advertising. The sudden re-entry of Hulk and Formula One 2003 into the charts is entirely down to their being bundled free with PS2 consoles in branches of Woolworths and other stores.
