In common with other sales charts around the world the data for September in the US shows relatively few new entries, allowing the PS2 version of Madden NFL 2004 to remain at the number one spot for a whole month. The highest new entry is Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Tactics Advance – proving again how the huge installed user base of the GBA can elevate what was a fairly niche title on the home consoles to blockbuster status. Conversely the relatively low user base of the Xbox is no doubt the cause of many multiformat titles such as Soulcalibur II and Madden NFL 2004 slipping down the chart faster than their PS2 counterparts.
