Publisher and developer Eidos Interactive, part of the SCi Entertainment Group, which announced its latest financial results earlier today, has also revealed that Ian Livingstone, former Chairman and Creative Director of Eidos, has been appointed as Product Acquisition Director for the company. According to Eidos, this means that Livingstone "will be responsible for ensuring that the Group has a strong forward pipeline of new products. This will include working with internal studios to create new franchises and securing new titles from external studios worldwide." Livingstone, who is also well-known for his co-founding of tabletop RPG firm and Warhammer creator Games Workshop in the '70s, as well as the co-creation of the Fighting Fantasy 'choose your own adventure' game books in the early '80s, was intimately involved in the creation of Eidos back in 1995. Having held a stake in British publisher Domark, Livingstone assumed a prominent role when it merged with video compression company Eidos, and became Chairman of the new game firm, which went on to publish titles such as Tomb Raider and soccer management game Championship Manager. Although stepping down as Chairman in 2002 to become Creative Director, Livingstone has more recently kept a low profile, excepting a position as Non-Executive Chairman of children's game console firm Bright Things, which is run by a number of former senior staff from Eidos and Domark, until this announcement.
