The 2nd Annual London Game Career Fair is set to take place October 23 - 24, 2007 at London's Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. The event, building on the success of the inaugural fair last year, features a mix of exhibitors and sessions, giving both existing members of the industry and those looking to break into the industry a chance to meet with companies and learn from experienced industry speakers. The London Game Career Fair is the exclusive recruitment event of the London Games Festival, a series of events taking place across the city during the week of October 22. This year's goal is to raise the caliber of the event by attracting qualified game developers as well as recent graduates to network with the world's top game development companies and to enhance their career strategies, drawing on the reach of the leading games industry websites. The inaugural event last year attracted more than 1,000 attendees and the 2007 event looks to expand on that success. Already, hundreds of attendees have taken advantage of the free registration and uploaded their resumes. The event sponsors, representing the industry's leading developers, will draw on the resume database to set meetings with qualified candidates. "The partnership between Gamasutra.com and GamesIndustry.biz proves our commitment to creating the highest quality career expo on offer in Europe," said Simon Carless, Publisher, Gamasutra.com. "The 2006 Game Career Fair far exceeded our expectations and we're excited to be offering aspiring game industry professionals the chance to network with leading game companies and talking about their career goals and aspirations." Industry giant Electronic Arts (EA) has thrown its weight behind the event, sponsoring gaming pods that will enable players onsite to test out the latest and greatest EA games. Additional sponsors and exhibitors include Blitz Games, Evolution Studios, Lionhead, LucasArts, NCsoft, OPM Response, Rare, Sega, THQ, and Team 17, as well as several UK universities. The London Game Career Fair will be attended by games industry professionals, recent graduates and individuals from related industries, such as film, computer graphics and animations. It will provide the ideal venue for attendees to speak with leading companies in the games industry about career opportunities. The fair focuses on a range of disciplines, including programming, audio, art, production, design and Quality Assurance. The schedule of sessions will be announced via the website in early October.
