LucasArts, TT Games Announce Lego Star Wars: The Complete Trilogy

LucasArts and TT Games have announced the first official details of their forthcoming Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, wrapping both hit Lego Star Wars releases into one package, and added that the Nintendo DS version of the game will be redeveloped from scratch. The Complete Saga will give players the opportunity to play through all six episodes of the Star Wars saga, adding new new characters, new levels and new features previously unavailable in the first two critically acclaimed and best-selling volumes of the game. The game will be available this fall for the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with developer Traveller's Tales promising to take "full advantage of the unique capabilities of all three next-generation consoles." Traveller’s Tales has said that original levels found in the first Lego Star Wars release have been "revamped... to match the gameplay evolutions found in Lego Star Wars II," and said characters can be mixed and matched across both games. Traveller’s Tales has also announced it will be developing a Nintendo DS version of the game from the ground up, replacing the critically heavily panned version of Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. LucasArts also notes that sales of the first two Lego Star Wars video game releases saw lifetime sales of nearly 7 million units through March 2007, and that Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy was the number 3 best-selling title of 2006.
