Macromedia has launched new versions of its MX Web and multimedia authoring tools—the MX 2004 family of products. Dreamweaver MX 2004 adds support for industry standards such as Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), secure FTP, and ASP.NET. Flash MX Professional 2004 introduces a new development environment using the now-standard visual tools pioneered by VB. It also adds tools for developing content for specific mobile phones, with device-specific emulators, templates, and device sounds. Fireworks MX 2004 adds new drawing tools that enhance the ability to work with both raster and vector images, as well as enhanced gradient fills. (For more details, see the press releases on the individual products: MX 2004 family, Studio MX, Dreamweaver MX, and Flash MX.)
