Third-party accessory manufacturer Mad Catz has announced a new licensing agreement with Ubisoft to bring release controllers featuring popular Ubisoft franchises including Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell Conviction. Mad Catz has said it will develop a variety of branded products covering its full range of controllers, faceplates and Console Skinz with logos and characters from each title. The products will be available for all platforms the titles are released on, and are expected to be available online and at retail to support the launch of the games themselves. The company also recently announced that it had signed a similar agreement with the National Hockey League, giving Mad Catz manufacturing rights for "licensed accessories for fans of each of North America’s four major sports leagues." Said company president and CEO Darren Richardson, "This agreement with Ubisoft is an excellent opportunity to align Mad Catz’ proven ability to produce innovative licensed products and accessories with the highly-anticipated launch of the initial title of the Assassin's Creed franchise as well as the newest game in the best-selling Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell series."
