With no major new releases in the whole of the top thirty, following the Obon holiday period, Nintendo and Hudson’s Mario Party 8 has returned to the top of the sales charts, with sales remaining above 100,000 for the fourth consecutive week. Despite the lack of new releases, overall sales have remained relatively steady, with Nintendo DS titles SD Gundam G Generation: Cross Drive and DK: Jungle Climber both putting in solid second week performances at number two and three, respectively, with around 48,000 unit sales each. Other movement of note includes key Wii titles Wii Sports and Wii Play, which both move up the chart to numbers four and five, respectively. Wii Sports, which is not bundled with the Wii console in Japan, has now sold over 2 million units in Japan and Wii Play over 1.6 million units. Minna no Golf 5 (aka Hot Shots Golf 5) has just clung on to a top ten spot, at number ten, and remains the only PlayStation 3 title in the top thirty. There are no Xbox 360 games in the whole top thirty and only one PSP title – Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories at number twenty-six.
