Modeling, painting, animation and rendering software developer Maxon has released a free update for its BodyPaint 3D R2 'real-time 3D painting' software. The latest plug-in update covers exchanging data between BodyPaint 3D R2 and Alias' Maya version 6, and is currently downloadable from the company's official site. In other Maxon-related news, the company has teamed up with ArchVision to announce the availability of an RPC plug-in for Cinema 4D R9 software. The update allows userse to make use of ArchVision’s ready-to-use object libraries, including people, trees, and other environmental objects. The plug-in also helps with decreased rendering times, since the RPC objects are made with imaged-based-rendering. Marco Tillmann, product manager at MAXON Computer GmbH, commented: "CINEMA 4D users and architects in particular, often asked for RPC support. It's no wonder that RPC, with its high end object libraries, is the market leader. We're delighted to have RPC content working with CINEMA 4D."
