Representatives from Microsoft have confirmed that there will be no X04 press event this year, with the company opting for a series of smaller events in individual territories. The previous three X0 events involved highly expensive transportation of journalists, publishers, and developers to various exotic locations around Europe, to preview new software for the coming year. Microsoft has not commented specifically on the reason for the cancellation. This now rules out X04 as the possible first public unveiling of the next-generation Xbox, with CES 2005 now seeming increasingly likely. Source: gamesindustry.biz
