The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
As Insomniac Games is honored as the fifth-best workplace in California, the Resistance developer reveals that its next title in development will be another PlayStation 3 exclusive.
Ratchet and Clank and Resistance creators Insomniac Games' next title will be another PS3 exclusive, the studio revealed, ending speculation that it might go multi-platform with its titles. It's currently in development, though no further details are available. The information was revealed in the Los Angeles-based developer's biographical information as the studio announced it is one of the best places to work for in the state of California, according to an Employers' Group survey -- the fifth-best, to be exact, and the only game studio on the list. As part of the release, Insomniac updated on franchise sales for its games, saying that the first three Spyro the Dragon games and its titles in the Ratchet & Clank franchise and the Resistance series have combined to sell more than 32 million units worldwide. The firm also specifically noted, as part of the company's background information: "Insomniac Games is currently developing an unannounced title, exclusively for PS3." As for the company award, Employers' Group awarded the winners based on responses to questions about work environment, policies, practices and benefits, plus a survey of a random sample of employees. Among the perks the studio offers its staffers: a collaborative environment, peer awards that include tickets to concerts and sporting events, royalty programs and massage therapy. Insomniac is even set to treat employees and their significant others to a Bahamas cruise for the studio's 15th anniversary. The studio notes this is the eighth time it's been honored as a "best workplace" since 2005. "Last year was an especially historic time for Insomniac in that we launched two successful games in one year while also laying the groundwork for our new North Carolina studio," says founder and CEO Ted Price. "It's therefore especially gratifying to earn such praise for our work culture considering the volume of activity and change we experienced. When we factor in the multitude of innovative companies populating the state this honor becomes even more humbling and special."
