Nintendo reveals new colors for both the DSi hardware and the Wii's controllers for North America at GameStop's annual retailer conference, also detailing pricing and an October 4 release date for Wii Fit Plus.
Nintendo is gearing up for the Fall season with new announcements at the 2009 GameStop Manager conference in Las Vegas, revealing new colors for both the DSi hardware and the Wii's controllers for North America, plus an October 4 release date for Wii Fit Plus. In addition to the black DSi, consumers will now have the option of either a pink or white unit beginning September 13, Nintendo says. It will also launch a Wii Remote and Motion Plus bundle in black, to be joined by a black Nunchuk closer to the holidays -- although the company hasn't announced plans to release the same color option for the Wii console itself. Wii Fit Plus is set to replace the current edition of Wii Fit on shelves when it launches, and Nintendo says it has new features and activities, plus the ability for users to build custom workouts. It'll be sold in a bundle with the Balance Board for $99.99, or as a standalone for current Wii Fit owners who can pay $19.99 for the upgrade. "All of these announcements bring more options and more choices to consumers as our industry heads into its busiest time of the year," said Nintendo of America president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime. "Each of these products allows consumers to enjoy a more personal gaming experience, no matter how they choose to play."
