Company president Satoru Iwata has made a number of comments at Nintendo’s annual corporate strategy conference that give insight into the company’s plans for the next-generation of consoles. He appeared to confirm rumors of an EyeToy like device for the GameCube with talk of a new version of Mario Party in which the company would make “the game playable even for people that can’t handle the controllers”. Iwata also mentioned that the next-generation Revolution console would be able to hook up to a PC monitor as well as a traditional TV, although no context was given for this ability or why it was being mentioned at this stage. Finally, Iwata indicated that the company might acquire additional stock from Bandai, although he insisted there were no specific plans to do so in the short term. He also made it clear that Nintendo had no plans to buy out Bandai, despite industry rumors to the contrary. The company is currently the ninth-ranking shareholder in Bandai, who own many of the most important intellectual properties in Japan. Source: GameSpot
