In an interview in Japanese newspaper Yomirui Shimbun Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has indicated that the company plans to continue to sell the GameCube console well into the lifespan of its next generation “Revolution” console. Iwata suggested that the GameCube would be sold alongside the Revolution for quite some time, but gave no indication as to whether the company would continue to support it with new software after the new console's launch.
