German 3D development engine company Trinigy has signed a multiplatform Vision Engine licensing deal with Finland-based Nitro Games. The first title under the deal will be Nitro's pirate title in development, Cutthroat, for PC and next-gen consoles. "We are delighted to welcome Nitro Games, one of Finland’s largest and most successful game development studios, in the circle of Vision licensees," says Richard Radmacher, Director International Sales at Trinigy. Released in June 2008, Vision Engine 7 has been licensed by a variety of developers, such as Xibalba Studios for casual PC title Icebreakers, as well as Settlers developer Blue Byte for forthcoming titles. More recently, Vision Engine has formed integration partnerships with NaturalMotion's Morpheme, Nvidia's PhysX and Pixelux's Digital Molecular Matter tech. "The main reasons for our decision were the Vision Engine’s high cross-platform performance, its mature tools set, and Trinigy’s responsive and very competent support," explains Nitro Games CEO Jussi Tahtinen. Nitro is also developing PC realtime strategy title East India Company.
