Nokia is announcing its N-Gage Arena, an on-line, multiplayer gaming service designed to complement its N-Gage cellphone/handheld gaming console. Slated to go live on October 7, 2003, the service will be initially offered free of charge as an incentive to try it. N-Gage Arena will offer the features you would expect from an online game service, including cheats, game clips, strategy guides and walk-throughs, and high score posting. Future pricing has not been announced, and of course the user will be billed by his or her cellphone service provider for any data transferred while using N-Gage.
